Welcome to Gatley Medical Centre
Gatley is a pleasant, moderately affluent suburb with a mix of social classes and ethnic groups. We have 8500 patients in a reasonably compact practice area. We are close to the M60 and the A34 Kingsway for good transport links.
We are 4 partner teaching practice comprising 3 full time partners, 1 part time partner and a salaried / locum doctor, with a GP registrar and an F2 doctor working with us. The Medical centre was purpose built in 2005 with individual consulting rooms for all clinicians (including GP registrar). We work with a range of primary care staff (District & Practice Nurses, Health Visitors, Midwife, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Counselling, & Gatley Care Scheme organiser).
There are all the usual in house clinics as well as in house spirometry, ECG, ambulatory BP and anticoagulant monitoring. There is an extensive library/quiet room – used for tutorials & study. We are linked to Stockport Day Release course, which has an excellent record of achievement of training high quality GP’s.
What are our interests? Bonny Needham is your GP Registrar day release Primary Care Medical Educator, Programme Director, GP education lead for Stockport PCT and a GP appraiser. Peter Carne looks after the F2 doctor, does sessions at St Anne’s Hospice and is a mean golfer. Andrew Davison is the registrar trainer since 2007, does the minor surgery and is on a national computer panel. He still thinks he can compete in triathlons. Usman Choudry joined us as a partner in 2009 and leads on diabetes care.
Contact for registrar training is andrew.davison@nhs.net or 0161 426 5100 and ask for Dr. Davison.
