The surgery has recently been substantially extended and refurbished and offers excellent facilities. The GP Registrar  has his/her own fully equipped, air conditioned consulting room with internet access. We hope soon to host a second GP Registrar which will provide benefits in working alongside each other.

We are a five-partner  practice, committed to providing high quality medical care with friendliness and courtesy to our patients. We regard the efficient use of resources and staff skills as essential in meeting our patients’ present and future needs and expect to score high Quality and Outcome points under the new contract. Our list size is 7800 with a mix of all five social classes and we have an enthusiastic and skilled Primary Health Care Team. We also have an excellent computer system and are linked to NHS-Net. All the partners enjoy teaching and support is always available.

Skills and Special Services Offered by Practice to Patients: Child health surveillance, Contraceptive services, cervical cytology, Diabetic clinic, Asthma care, ECGs, Acupuncture, Minor Surgery, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics, Travel clinic, Leg ulcer management, Counselling, Sigmoidoscopies, Hormone implants, Doppler assessments, Syringe-driver, Gastrostomy care, Terminal care, Cardiovascular Screening Programme, and Vasectomies.

The practice has an ideal central location in Marple village with patients in the surrounding areas of Marple Bridge, Mellor, Compstall, Romiley and Strines. A tight practice boundary operates to limit travelling time when visiting. The village has a good range of specialist shops and supermarkets. There is also a cinema, swimming pool, cricket/squash club, tennis club, gym, golf club and a wide choice of housing and good primary and secondary schools. We are close to the M60 motorway; public transport (two railway stations and bus services) connect with Stockport (4 miles) and Manchester, which provide a huge range of shopping and cultural activities. Walking and outdoor activities are well catered for, both in Marple, (famous for its canal locks) and in the easily-reached Peak District
