Peak Practice? - Well, not quite, but Sett Valley Medical Centre is a well established 5 partner training practice in a semi-rural area on the edge of the Peak District. Its modern, purpose built surgery is located in the town of New Mills, 8 miles south of Stockport, with a branch surgery in the picturesque village of nearby Hayfield.

Our Practice has been training successfully now for 15 years with consistent success in summative assessment and MRCGP. The Practice also takes 4th year Medical Students from Manchester.

The Doctors,  are an experienced, enthusiastic team who have a wide range of clinical interests including Diabetes, Respiratory Medicine, CHD, Occupational Medicine and Minor Surgery.

We were first wave fundholders, are currently a PMS Practice and are also actively involved with Primary Based Commissioning. We also appreciate that there is life outside medicine and have a wide range of leisure, sporting and cultural interests.

The Registrar has their own room and works closely with all the Practice Team.

The Practice is well equipped  including spirometer, 24 hr ambulatory BP monitor, 24 hr ECG Monitor, audiometer and an extensive range of equipment for minor surgical procedures.We now have in-house Opthamology and Dermatology Consultant led clinics which Registrars can sit in on, as well ass attending Rheumatology,ENT,Gynaecology and Ultrasound outreach clinics at our PBC collaborative partner practices.
