We are a suburban practice of 4500 patients. Our practice is close to Stepping Hill Hospital where the day release course is held on Tuesdays. We work from newly converted premises and the GP registrar has their own room.
We have been fully computerised for many years and have Pathology lab links and computerised appointment systems.
Out of hours cover is provided by Mastercall, who also provide the obligatory training experience needed to satisfy the Deanery requirements
Our practice, and the partners, have been involved with teaching for many years. As well as our GP registrar we are involved in undergraduate medical education, with students attending regularly from Manchester University. Our aim is to give our registrars a secure and relaxed environment in which to learn, with good facilities and support. The key goals of the training year have to be to help you pass the new MRCGP examination. However we also want you to obtain a good understanding of the way General Practice functions, from issues about employing staff and Health and Safety, to understanding the finances and business aspects of the practice. As there are other learners in the Practice, you can practice your teaching skills.
We are always pleased to make contact with Doctors interested in our practice, so please feel free to phone us for an informal look around.
